It’s the Week of Comic-Cons…

The annual San Diego Comic-Con is coming up, and as always I find myself wishing I had the money and purchasing speed needed to spend a few days getting the scoop—in person—on my favorite TV shows and movies while nerding out with other fans.

Last May I got the closest I will ever be to SDCC by attending one of Hampton Road’s local versions of the event. Tidewater Comicon and Hampton Comicon are annual events; this year I finally made my way to Tidewater Comicon. Continue reading “It’s the Week of Comic-Cons…”

Shobou Con – Why Did We Change Locations?

This year, Shobou Con will be taking place at the Central Library, 298 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322. Why the change? Well, since its inception, the con has doubled in size every year. Last year we packed over 2,000 of you into the Greenbrier Library, and we were bursting at the seams! Can you imagine 4,000 people stuffed into the Greenbrier Library? Not a pretty picture. The new location gives us extra space so all of you can spread out and invite even more people. It also means that we are able to offer you more things:

*Double the vendors

*More rooms for panels

*A meeting room large enough for everyone to watch the Cosplay Contest

*Tons of Game Show panels

And we’ll still have your old favorites:

*Candy Sushi

*Crafts

*AMV Contest

*Anime viewing stations

*All day gaming

If you are interested in participating in any way, we really need panelists and volunteers! Check out the Shobou Con 2015 tab on the menu above and fill out the online application.
