Hello lovely readers. I’ve returned with yet another series that I’d love to chat with you about. This series came out quite a few years ago, and I must say, that it’s one of my go to series without a doubt. I can still remember trying to get up SUPER early in the morning, or trying to stay up late just so I could watch it. The series that I’m referring to is Trigun.
This series starts off in a barren, dry, and hot desert on a planet called Gunsmoke. The most wanted man on the planet is the main character, Vash the Stampede. He’s caused so much damage, death and destruction that he has a bounty of $$60 billion (that’s 60 billion double dollars), and he’s been on the run ever since a devastating event in which he was involved. As with most people on the run in Westerns, Vash runs into a whole lot of people he’d rather not associate himself with. In this case, it’s two insurance women following him around through the series. We also get introduced to a priest with an affinity for guns named Wolfwood, and Vash’s blood thirsty brother, Knives.
I personally did not know I was going to love this show like I did. I remember staying up late and finding Trigun on. Of course, it was anime, so I NEEDED to watch it, even though I had NO IDEA what was happening. I think I started with the flashback episode which was way at the end of the series. The main thing that I took away from it though was the fact that it was a WESTERN. I don’t really like Westerns. Yet this show made me so happy that I would get up WAY before I needed to be ready for school and spend an hour watching two episodes each day. I actually got in trouble with my dad because I was getting up so early to watch anime.
We have more than a few different renditions of Trigun, including a spinoff of the original series, all of which are equally enjoyable and entertaining. Seeing as this is a classic, I would definitely give it a try. And if you do give it a try, I hope that you enjoy it.
Well that’s all that’s from me. Stay golden my friends and see you next time!
