Guess what?!

Ann Aguirre is the genius behind the Enclave series. (Enclave is > both The Hunger Games series and Divergent series.) I love her brain!

Mortal Danger begins with Edie on a bridge ready to end everything after a lifetime of bullying. Edie is convinced no one cares and then along comes handsome Kian with a deal that could change everything.

The beginning of the book focuses a lot on suicide and that’s a pretty big and scary topic. Most teens know someone who has committed, attempted or considered suicide but it isn’t something you come across every day on the shelves. As Edie’s story progresses, she seems to embrace the idea that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. She finds other ways to change her life and some of those changes come through seemingly magical means.

Of course, Edie’s new life doesn’t come for free and by the time she realizes the stakes she is in way over her head! By then she’s not the same Edie from the bridge, she has changed and she’s ready to play the Immortal Game.
