When Mr. Dog Bites

First off – Trigger Warning for Language.

First, I have to say – to whoever checked out Greenbrier’s copy before I got to it – Well Played.  It’s not easy to get the jump on the librarians.  But if you’ve ever wondered if we give the readers a fair chance to get things first – here’s your proof.

Now, why the language flag?  Easy.  This book is about a guy with Tourette’s Syndrome, and it doesn’t pull any punches.  So if profanity is going to bother you, think twice about this book.

With that all out of the way, though, this is a really great read!!  When a misunderstanding turns Dylan’s life from challenging to life-endingly-challenging things get very interesting.  Armed with an impossible bucket list, a short timeline, ODD, Tourette’s, and an impossibly funny attitude, Dylan “sets out to have some fun.”  The result, for the reader, is fun – and touching, and insightful, and educational.  But you’ll be laughing so hard you won’t notice anything by the fun.

Some reviews said the story wanders at points, but to me that seemed like part of the whole experience rather than a flaw.  Let us know what you think.  Add your own review in the comments.
