Win, Lose or Draw: The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen
I’ve seen this book floating around. It hit the shelves as a juvenile chapter book- kid stuff. I don’t read a lot of that anymore. I mostly stick to teen literature. The only reason I gave the book a chance is because I needed something to listen to during my drive home- I didn’t regret my choice. This book is something special.
This is like the Game of Thrones for kids; intrigue, danger, lies and ambition are all swirling around minus the raunchy edge. A greedy regent has decided to place a puppet prince upon the throne so he can pull the strings. A handful of orphans are swept up in an adventure wrapped in a scheme and only one can succeed.
I loved this book. Win.
