Spy, Sleuth, and Snoop Scoop: Wrapped by Jennifer Bradbury

This is not what the cover of the book I checked out looks like, but it is the same book!  I absolutely LOVED this story! The funny thing about it is that I was about two chapters in when I realized that I had read it before, but since I couldn’t remember the ending,  I just went ahead and read it again. Has that ever happened to you?

The story is set in the Regency England time period much like a Jane Austen or Bronte sister’s novel. It starts with Agnes Wilkins, a young girl just about to make her debut into society.  She attends an “unwrapping” party -which was all the rage then- where an Egyptian mummy is unwrapped for the amusement of guests . Pretty strange, I know, but true.

While there a man is murdered, a secret object falls into her hands, and Agnes is drawn into an mystery involving spies, ancient curses and unexpected romance! You will really enjoy this book. It is fast-paced and the characters are genuine.
