Look at those gorgeous blue dresses!! Aren’t they stunning?

The dresses may be similar, but the stories are not…

The Selection is a fluffy confection of a tale. It combines the very best aspects of the Bachelor and Cinderella with some intriguing concepts on social equality. Some people have compared it to the Hunger Games. They both have a high stakes lottery and dystopian societies, but compared to Hunger Games The Selection is far more luxurious and light. This is a wonderfully girlie frou-frou book in the best ways possible.

Alice in Zombieland takes an unusual spin on the whole zombie genre. The story is much grimmer than I expected. This one also belongs in the dysfunctional family category- the main character’s dad is slightly insane… or is he? He sees zombies other people don’t see, and he is terrified of them so much so that he avoids going out at night. His wife and daughters live half-lives during daylight hours and then are locked away in the fortified home he has created. The Alice in Wonderland theme I expected isn’t as strong as I had hoped when I picked up the book, but I don’t regret reading it.

Bottom Line: Go read The Selection!!!
