Let’s have a dragon book battle!

  Firelightvoices of dragons

Firelight by Sophie Jordan

VS.

Voices of Dragons by Carrie Vaughn

…………………………………………….

Firelight: Jacinda is a dragon, but she also has the ability to shift into a human form. She is forbidden to go too close to the mortal world in her draki skin. Guess what she does…

Voices of Dragons: Kay is a human, but she lives near the border between the mortal world and the realm of dragons. She is forbidden to go beyond the border into the dragons’ land. Guess what she does…

Jacinda: Jacinda is a wishy-washy teen with a fierce ability. If Jacinda used logic more fluidly I would really like her a lot. She’s got a stubborn streak, but sometimes she makes bad or unreasonable decisions.

Kay: Kay is also guilty of making questionable decisions, but at least she gives her choices a significant amount of thought. When it comes right down to it, she strikes me as being selfless and firm in her commitment to making amends for any mistakes.

Both girls face danger whenever the dragon and human worlds collide. Both girls are trying to keep secrets. Both girls have love interests, and interesting well developed friends.

At the end of the day, I personally enjoyed Voices more than Firelight. However, Voices really leaves the reader hanging with no follow up or resolution for characters I had begun to love. Firelight gets better as the series progresses and the story feels more complete.

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a dragon read, either book will do, but if you want a finished product Firelight is really the only choice.
